The key aims of the training program were:

  • Provide a market-ready, income-generating skill
  • Enable women to earn independently from home or locally
  • Build confidence, creativity, and professional identity
  • Open opportunities during wedding & festive seasons
  • Reduce dependence on irregular or low-paid work

The program was conducted over a period of one month, from 17th December 2025 to 16th January 2026. A professional and experienced Mehndi artist was engaged as the trainer to ensure high-quality instruction.

The training program covered:

  • Basics of Mehndi cone preparation and handling
  • Understanding designs, patterns, and symmetry

  • Improving speed, precision, and finishing
  • Guidance on client handling, hygiene, and presentation

Sessions were conducted in a practical, hands-on format, allowing participants to practice regularly and receive individual feedback. By the end of the course, participants demonstrated significant improvement in skill level & were able to create professional-quality designs independently.

A total of 25 women participated in the program.

The Mehndi vocational training program was completed successfully, strengthening SETU’s mission of women empowerment through skill development. SETU plans to continue organizing such skill-based initiatives to support women in building dignified and sustainable livelihoods.
