Artisan health & safety is often neglected at the grassroots level due to lack of awareness & limited resources. Sometimes, the artisans may not be fully aware of the potential hazards and risks associated with their work, or, due to limited financial resources, safety measures take a back seat.

Addressing these challenges requires a multi-faceted approach that involves education, outreach, regulatory enforcement, etc. Initiatives that raise awareness about the importance of artisan safety, trainings, and financial support in implementing safety measures can contribute to creating a safer working environment at the grassroots level.

SETU is constantly emphasizing the importance of artisan health & safety. As an endeavor towards achieving this aim, SETU sponsored 6 fire extinguishers at one of the artisan group’s workshop involved in making wood & bone products. This will not only safeguard them from any mis-happenings, but will also spread the message about importance of safe workplace.
